This painting is an allegory of the Buddhist koan - Monkey Grabbing the Reflection of the Moon.
It depicts the human desire and striving to achieve something beautiful, but at the same time illusory and fleeting, similar to a monkey trying to catch the reflection of the moon in the water. People often strive for things that seem within reach, but few of them truly understand or achieve the true, inner light - enlightenment, symbolized by the sun. The painting thus invites deeper reflection on the true value and meaning of our journey, drawing attention to the difference between superficial illusions and true spiritual reality.
